I Want To Ride My Bicycle......I Want To Ride My Bike.......

Yesterday was a beautiful day in the streets of Victoria, BC. I found these bicycles everywhere and thought they would be a cool subject to add to my blog today. Ding Ding!!

Lions Gate (1st Narrows) Bridge

Here's a view of the Lions Gate Bridge from the seawall in Vancouver. It was a blustery chilly spring day with lots to see!

Window.....

When taking this photo, I was thinking of looking through a window to a secret garden. As I was processing it in Lightroom today, my son shared with me that he has been recently thinking of a family friend who had passed away just over a year ago. He shared that he had some tears, and misses her a lot.
Shawna was a wonderful friend to me, like a sister. She has known the boys for their entire life...and in a sense, was a second mother figure to them. They were blessed to have her in their life. We are all mourning her loss still and will always remember the time we have had with her. This photo means so much more to me now knowing that my teenaged son shared these vulnerable feelings with me at the same time.
 Thanks for that Shawna.
This may sound corny and silly, but perhaps this window is not a gateway to a secret garden after all. It's a window to my son's heart.
 I like that idea.

Shadows & Reflections

We walked through a cemetary in Fort Langley yesterday. There were some beautiful gravestones there. All shapes and sizes. I think this photo shows a few of the shapes.

My son thinks this shadow looks like a person with a hat on. I liked the shape of it.

Colourful shadows. Was a tricky one though. I had to keep out of the shadow there...the sun was right behind me. I probably looked like a weirdo but the outcome turned out well.

Bridge over troubled water.....(sorry, I couldn't resist)

This church was pretty. It's on the indian reserve across the riverway we sat at for a long time.

I like the reflection of this Kayaker in the calm water ahead of him. It was a lucky shot. He was just about to turn in his oar.

Vancouver Is My Favourite Place To Photograph...as you may already have guessed...

I love these street lights. You will see another one or two later. The downtown east side and Chinatown are so full of people and texture and color (and colorful people)

These brooms were so bright and sunny looking during our dreary grey weather, I had to take a photo.

I didn't change a thing in this photo. I loved how it showed people walking in every direction going about their business. It's full of many stories.

I did walk by this newspaper laying on the ground...then went back because it spoke to me! hahahhaaa

Sometimes, this is ugly...sometimes it's beautiful. You choose.

There is always change.

Circles

Taking this photo was more interesting than the photo itself. There were people ducking out of the way in the attempts to not be photographed. All day, we had comments from people saying they wanted their photos removed from our cameras. Was a grumpy person day. But we had fun with it anyways.

Had no resistance from this sweetie pie.

More lamp post photos and reflections.

I did set this photo up slightly in camera. There are 5 frames here, most of them have someone doing something different in each.

Clean up crew!

This beautiful gal seemed to show up either behind us or in front of us wherever we walked. I love her scarves and her pink glasses. I kind of wanted to hug her.

Shape and texture.
