The Berkshires Hit Steveston

Jonathan and Melissa met me in Steveston to take some photos of them when Melissa was in the early months of her pregnancy. It's a very exciting phase in their new marriage. I could tell they just adore each other and they 'know' each other very well. It made for a really fun day. I really enjoyed the time we spent together. It was so nice out, I stayed in the area and noticed them walking around taking in the scenery, shops, and beautiful winter sunset. Thanks JB and Mel ~ I hope to see you again in the next few months....and you new addition xo.

No Worries Man!!!

Happy to pose for a photo, this young guy was proud of his collection of worry dolls he had pinned to his backpack. On the right side, you may see a rubber snake with the head of a worry doll in its mouth. We asked what the story was with that...and he had one! There was a girl doll underneath it that 'got away' so the snake grabbed another. OK.
Neat guy, neat story, added more to our photo day!

Time Stands Still

A storefront photo of these watches was an opportunity to make time stand still.

Able To Leap Tall Buildings.....

Brook and I went on another photowalk today. This was one of those quick "get it" moments while we were driving down the street. I love how this turned out! It's exciting and bold!

Cranberries, Luscious Cranberries!!!!!

Cranberries are grown in abundance in Richmond. The fields are as far as the eye can see. If you get the change to go see the harvesting in the next couple days, head out and watch! It's quite the sight! You may even spot the Ocean Spray guys from the commercials! (well..maybe not).

Berries galore!

Berries.

Fun with High Dynamic Range (HDR)

So...Brook and I took a 2 hour mini course with Paul McDermott of PMDPhotography at SFU last Tuesday. We learned how to bracket photos (take 3 or more photos with varying exposures) and create a High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo using our cameras and a photoshop program called Photomatix. Here are some photos that I took that evening.
The first one is of inside the cafeteria where we met afterwards to do up the photoshop work. The ceiling is amazing!

Tunnel with heavy duty HDR & SFU South view

I really like how the background looks like a mural from The Wizard Of Oz. That's Brook peering into the red doorway.

South view from SFU Campus.

Fun with HDR

Brook and I took a mini course at the SFU campus last Tuesday and learned how to create High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos using our camera, tripod, and a photoshop program called Photomatix. Here are some of the photos I took. Thank you Paul McDermott from PMDPhotography for showing us this fun and surprisingly easy technique! What you do is take 3 or more photos that vary in exposure, of exactly the same shot (bracket)...and merge them together using the photoshop program! Super cool!

Cool ceiling inside the Cafeteria.

View facing east. Battlestar Galactica was filmed here.

Another west view.

Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay.....

Brook and I went to Steveston a few weeks ago. We walked the docks madly clicking our cameras for a good hour. There are so many shapes and colours, lines and textures. Here are some of Brook's shots. His post is "Sitting on a knot on the bay".

Fishing lures.

Anchor chains

Some rustic textures

Some tools fo the trade.

PNE People....such a great place to people watch.

Butterfly balloon.

While eating our lunch, I turned and noticed these ladies. I wondered why they were wearing the same clothes and same jewelry...I then saw that they were twins. From the angle they were at, it doesn't look like they were identical, but they were very much alike and very connected. My son thought it was odd that I was taking random photos of unknown people. He called me a "creeper". LOL.  I like to think of them as the perfect models.

Ya just never know what you're gonna see at The PNE!
